Toledo Mascot Rebranding

When signed by the Governor, SHB 1356 will prohibit schools from using Native American names, symbols, or images as school mascots, logos, or team names. While this doesn't relate at all to other representations of our history, we will need to rebrand the district and select a new mascot.

First, we will collect ideas for new mascots from the community and hold several focus group meetings to identify the preferences of each group. Next, we will narrow the nominations to a few so that the school board can select a new mascot from those recommended.

Here are the results of the Mascot Primary:

We will have focus groups in person at Toledo High School on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. beginning on May 11
